The Pro GmbH was a 1979 by Alfred Biolek founded and Andreas Lichter German television production company that has worked in the entertainment field. The business purpose was the development and manufacture of productions for theater and television . The productions covered the areas of shows , series , sitcoms , television films , documentaries and reports as well as comedy and cabaret . In addition, Pro GmbH was responsible for the artist management of Alfred Biolek, Dirk Bach and Ralph Morgenstern . In 1987 Dirk Bach joined the company as a partner .
In 2000 the subsidiary pro in space GmbH was founded for the activities of Pro GmbH in the new media sector. Since February 2010, pro in space has been independent. In addition, a department for documentaries and reports has been established in Berlin since 2003 .
In 1996, Pro GmbH and the ZAK team around presenter Friedrich Küppersbusch founded Probono television production . In 2007, Senator Entertainment AG became the majority shareholder in Pro GmbH.
In March 2010, the company filed for bankruptcy. The reasons for this are still unknown today. The area of non-fiction, in particular the area of documentaries and reports, was rebuilt and continued by the newly founded Berlin company "Februar Film GmbH"; Another start-up, "Pro TV Produktion GmbH" under the former managing director Andreas Lichter, continued in particular the TV show formats division. In May 2013, the managing director Andreas Lichter was replaced by Uli Wilkes, the managing director of pro in space GmbH, and Jürgen Brandt.
