Stefanie Ren

Stefanie Ren (* 1987 in Taiwan ) is a German screenwriter and writer .

Life

In 2013 she graduated from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in the areas of screenplay and series . She was the head writer of the RTL series Not to get dead , which was nominated as the best comedy series for the German Comedy Award 2017. In 2019 her first feature film Cleo premiered at the Berlinale as the opening film in the Generation Kplus section, directed and co-authored by Erik Schmitt .

Together with Nicolas Steiner, she wrote the short film Ich bin's, Helmut , set in Valais , which won the 2009 award for the best Swiss short film at the International Short Film Festival in Winterthur . This was followed by the nomination for the German Short Film Award 2010 for the best German short film and the win of the International Grand Prix of the largest Asian short film festival in Tokyo in 2011. Ich bin's Helmut has been shown at over 100 festivals on all five continents and has received numerous awards.

In 2013 her first novel The Wedding Principle was published as an ebook by Jiffy Stories by Residenz Verlag .

Stefanie Ren lives and works in Berlin .
