The Kinmen Airport (also Shang Yi Airport ; traditional Chinese : 金門 尚義 機場) (IATA: KNH, ICAO: RCBS) is the civil airport of the district or the island of Kinmen in the Republic of China (Taiwan) . It is located in Jinhu Township . It was built in 1994 northeast of the former military airport. In 2014, around 2.3 million passengers used the airport.

Data

The airport is 17 meters above sea level. It has a runway (06/24) with a 3004 meter long and 45 meter wide paved surface. A road about three kilometers long leads to two neighboring villages.

Incidents

The only known serious incident occurred on June 6, 1983, as a Fairchild C-119 G Flying Boxcar of the Taiwanese Air Force ( Air vehicle registration number 3197 ) a few minutes after the start due to the failure of an engine and a stall crashed into the sea. A total of 38 of the 47 inmates died.
