Uni Air ( Chinese 立榮 航空 , Pinyin LìRóng Hángkōng ) is a Taiwanese airline based in Taoyuan and based at Taipei Songshan Airport .
history
Uni Air was founded on July 1, 1998 as the successor to three regional airlines, including Makung International Airlines . It belongs to the shipping company Evergreen Marine and is therefore a sister company of EVA Air .
Destinations
Uni Air mainly serves destinations in Taiwan. Internationally, cities in East Asia are served from Kaohsiung .

Incidents
Uni Air recorded an incident with fatalities until November 2017.
- On August 24, 1999, when a McDonnell Douglas MD-90 ( aircraft registration number B-17912) landed at Hualien Airport, a flammable liquid exploded in a hand luggage compartment in the front right part of the MD-90. The passengers were evacuated and the fire brigade brought the fire under control after 30 minutes. One passenger was killed and 28 injured in the incident. The MD-90 had to be written off (see also Uni-Air flight 873 ) .
