The Mzuzu Airport is an airport near Mzuzu , the regional capital of the Northern Region in Malawi . It is run by the state. In 2006 a study was published that found it would cost $ 400,000 to renovate the airport. Therefore it was considered to sell the airport to a private carrier.

Incidents

In 2004 there was an accident at the airport in which an airplane rolled over the train and rammed a bus . There were several injured and one dead. On board the plane was Malawi's Vice President Chakufwa Chihana .

Flights

The state airline Air Malawi was the only airline to regularly fly to the airport for civil traffic. The targets were Lilongwe and Karonga .
