Fluorone (also xanthen-3-one ) is a heterocyclic chemical compound . It forms the main body of the dyes fluorescein , erythrosin , rhodamine and eosins ( eosin B and eosin Y ). It is isomeric to xanthone ( xanthen-9-one ).
