Flying Witch ( Japanese ふ ら い ん ぐ う ぃ っ ち Furaingu Witchi ) is a Japanese manga series by Chihiro Ishizuka that has been published since 2012 . An anime film, also published in German, followed in 2016.

action

Makoto Kowata is 15 years old and therefore has to leave her parents' home, as she is considered an adult in the world of witches and this corresponds to tradition. So she moves to the country with Hirosaki to live with her aunt Nana Kuramoto, her uncle Keiji, her cousin Kei and her younger cousin Chinatsu. There she experiences many adventures and occasionally gets a visit from her older sister Akane, who travels the world, drinks too much sake but is an excellent witch.

publication

The debut work by Chihiro Ishizuka has been published since August 9, 2012 (issue 9/2012) in the manga magazine Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine of the Kōdansha publishing house . The chapters have so far (as of April 2017) been combined into five anthologies ( Tankōbon ).

A Chinese version is published in Taiwan by Tong Li. In the US, it was licensed by Vertical during the anime airing and has been released since March 28, 2017.

Anime

The animation studio JCStaff adapted the work as an anime series. Directed by Katsushi Sakurabi, the artistic director Yasuhiro Okumura and the character design comes from Masato Anno. The 12 episodes were broadcast from April 10 to June 26 after midnight (and thus on the previous television day ) on NTV , as well as on Sun TV , Aomori Hōsō , BS Nittere and Miyagi TV with an offset of up to two weeks .

Crunchyroll streamed the series outside of Asia as a simulcast and a. with German subtitles.

The series music was composed by Yoshiaki Dewa. The opening title Shanranran feat. 96 Neko ( シ ャ ン ラ ン ラ ン feat. 96 猫 ) comes from the singer-songwriter Miwa . The final title Nichijō no Mahō ( 日常 の 魔法 ) was composed by Shūhei Mutsuki, texted by Natsumi Tadano and sung by the speakers of Makoto and Chinatsu under their role names.
