Folker Roland

Folker Roland (born September 18, 1964 in Helmstedt ) is a German business economist and university lecturer . He has been Rector of the Harz University of Applied Sciences in Saxony-Anhalt since 2017 .

education

Roland attended the primary school in Hattorf from 1970 to 1974 and then until 1976 the orientation level in Wolfsburg-Westhagen . He then went to the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Wolfsburg , where he graduated from high school in 1983. He then studied business administration and mathematics for five years at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and graduated in 1988 with a degree in business administration . At this university he took up a doctoral degree , which he received in 1993 as Dr. rer. pole. finished. The topic of his dissertation is procurement strategies. Requirements, methods and IT support for a selection that is appropriate to the problem .

After working as a research assistant and research assistant in Göttingen, Wolfsburg and Dresden , Roland became professor of business administration, especially production and logistics, in the economics department of the Harz University of Applied Sciences in Wernigerode in 1994 . From 1997 to 2000 he was Vice Rector for Studies, Quality Management and Continuing Education. He held this position again from 2007. After the previous rector Armin Willingmann moved to the State Chancellery of Saxony-Anhalt in Magdeburg in May 2016, he initially took over the post of university rector on a provisional basis and, after the successful election of the Academic Senate, on February 1, 2017 full-time.
