Folker Weißgerber
Folker Weißgerber (born March 25, 1941 in Chemnitz , † August 25, 2007 in Wolfsburg ) was a German manager .
Life
Folker Weißgerber completed an apprenticeship as an electrician from 1955 to 1958. From 1961 on, Weißgerber worked in various positions at the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg . From 1989, Weißgerber headed the Wolfsburg plant.
From December 1991 to February 1993 he was a deputy member of the Volkswagen brand management board, Production and Logistics division. From March 2001 to June 2005 he was a member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG . He headed the production division.
Weißgerber was an honorary professor at the Technical University of Chemnitz .
Folker Weißgerber died on August 25, 2007 in Wolfsburg and was buried in the forest cemetery in Wolfsburg.
honors and awards
In April 2000 he received an honorary doctorate from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg , in May 2000 from the Technical University of Chemnitz and in August 2002 from the Technical University in Košice . In 2004 he was made an honorary professor at Tongji University .
Changchun City made white tanners an honorary citizen in 2000 . He is also an honorary citizen of Chemnitz . In 2003 he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Shanghai .
Weißgerber was honored with the Saxon Order of Merit and in 2000 and 2005 with the Order of the White Double Cross 3rd class and 2nd class.
