The Fomitsch ( Russian Фомич ) is a left tributary of the Popigai in the northeast of the Krasnoyarsk region . To distinguish it from the smaller right Popigai tributary of the same name, the river is also known as the "Upper Fomitsch".

The Fomitsch rises in the north of the Anabar plateau . It flows north first, but then turns northwest. Later it makes a sharp curve to the right and flows in an east-northeast direction until it flows into the Popigai. The Fomitsch has a length of 393 km. Its catchment area covers 13,100 km².
