The Forbes Glacier is a glacier in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . On the northern edge of the Casey Range in the Framnes Mountains, it flows to the western section of Holme Bay on the Mawson Coast .
Norwegian cartographers, who named it Bryggen (Norwegian for pier ), mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) changed its name on November 28, 1955. New is named Alastair G. Forbes, dog handlers in a campaign of Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions , which on May 26, 1952 during an exploration of the island Heard near the Baudissin glacier to hypothermia died.
