geography
The Forbes River is a glacial river that is formed by outflow at the end of Forbes Glacier . Embedded in the mountain ranges of the Two Thumb Range , which are oriented here in a west-east direction , the Forbes River initially flows in a south-easterly direction and after the confluence of the stream coming from the South Forbes Glacier , the river moves eastwards by a total of 8 km west the Cloudy Peak Range to flow into the Havelock River .
