The Altkehdingen forest is a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Wingst in the combined municipality of Land Hadeln in the district of Cuxhaven .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG LÜ 067 was 19  hectares in size. It was located south of Cadenberge on the edge of the Wingst and served to protect a colony of gray herons that lived there . The birds mostly brooded in the old spruce trees that grew there . However, the spruce stand was weakened by the droppings of the herons and damaged by bark beetles and had to be felled. The gray herons can no longer be found in the forest area as breeding birds due to disturbances.

The area has been under nature protection since May 6, 1977. The nature conservation status was revoked in July 2012. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the district of Cuxhaven.
