The forester's house Heldenstein is located in the area of an exclave from the town of Edenkoben in the Haardt sub-area of the Palatinate Forest . It lies on a ridge that is between 450 and 500 meters high. It also forms the saddle of the Weißenberg . In the immediate vicinity of the forester's house there is a listed fountain and the Steigerkopf including the Schänzelturm . The Modenbach rises one kilometer south . One kilometer to the west, already within the boundaries of an exclave of Hainfeld , there is a sweet chestnut classified as a natural monument. About one kilometer further east is the Lolosruhe , two kilometers southeast of the Kesselberg and the Schenkenbrunnen . In the wider catchment area are the Amicitia Hut and the Edenkobener Hut at the Hüttenbrunnen .

During the coalition wars at the end of the 18th century, there were several Prussian jumps in the vicinity of the forester's house , the locations of which have meanwhile been provided with knight stones.

The district road 6 leads past the hamlet , which connects the place with the core town of Edenkoben and with the state road 506 below the Modenbacherhof . It is also on the route of a hiking trail that is marked with a green and white bar . This connects the Forsthaus Heldenstein with Neidenfels , Esthal and Sankt Martin, among others . To the west there is a historical connection to Taubensuhl and Johanniskreuz , which is now used for forestry. On Sundays and public holidays during the summer season, the hiking bus route 506 of the Rhein-Neckar transport association runs past the Forsthaus Heldenstein with one stop.
