The fort of planoise , also known as Fort Moncey , was built from 1877 to 1892. It is part of the belt of fortifications around the city of Besançon in eastern France in the Franche-Comté region . The fort is part of a chain of fortress rings of the Barrière de fer type , also known as the "Système Séré de Rivières".
