The fort in Cormeilles-en-Parisis , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department of the Île-de-France region , was built between 1875 and 1878.

The fort on Route Stratégique was built according to the plans of General Raymond-Adolphe Serre de Rivières. After the lost Franco-Prussian War in 1870/71, it was supposed to protect the capital Paris in future wars . To this end, 19 new forts were built in the wider area of the city. 2000 soldiers could be stationed in the fort. Six batteries were set up around the fort , which could defend the area with their guns.

From the end of World War II until 1956, the fort was used as a prison . After that, apartments were furnished in the main building until the early 1970s. From 1967 to 1997 the facility was used again by the French army and then abandoned. The entire facility later became the property of the Val-d'Oise department.
