Carlos Milcíades Villalba Aquino

Carlos Milcíades Villalba Aquino (born August 22, 1924 in San Pedro de Ycuámandyjú , † January 8, 2016 in Asunción ) was a Paraguayan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Juan Bautista de las Misiones in Paraguay .

Life

Carlos Milcíades Villalba Aquino was ordained a priest on November 28, 1948 after completing his philosophical and theological training at the diocesan seminary of the diocese of San Pedro .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 25, 1978 Bishop of San Juan Bautista . The Apostolic Nuncio in Paraguay, Archbishop Joseph Mees , donated him episcopal ordination on August 6, 1978 ; Co- consecrators were Aníbal Maricevich Fleitas , Bishop of Concepción en Paraguay , and Jorge Adolfo Carlos Livieres Banks , Auxiliary Bishop in Asunción .

He was the founder of the first Benedictine monastery in Paraguay in 1984 .

On July 22, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
