Foundation and development

FORUM Berufsbildung was founded in 1985 as a registered non-profit association by Helmut Riethmüller. In this way he wanted to pass on his knowledge of natural food and organic products . A first course on the subject of organic food was followed a year later by other courses on topics in the field of sustainability such as "Nature conservation in the city" and "Business administration for self-managed companies".

Today the focus is on commercial professions for thirteen industries. The association's “organic roots” are still reflected in courses such as “Further training for natural food specialists” or “Distance learning course for natural food consultants”.

With the foundation of FORUM International Training in 2007, the educational institute began an international orientation. FORUM International Training is now active in China, India, Namibia and Egypt and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research .

In 2011, a vocational school for geriatric care , an approved replacement school under construction, was founded in Berlin. In 2013 the approved vocational school for social assistance was opened.

Certification

The distance learning courses are checked and approved by the State Central Office for Distance Learning (ZFU).
