Chamber of tax advisors
The Chamber of Tax Consultants is the locally responsible professional association for tax consultants . The chambers are corporations under public law (KdöR). The legal basis for the establishment, organization and activity of the chambers of tax advisors are §§ 73 ff. Of the Tax Advisory Act .
All tax advisors , tax agents and tax advisory companies are compulsory members of a Chamber of Tax Advisors.
In Germany there are 21 chambers of tax advisors, which together form the umbrella organization Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors and represent a total of around 96,500 tax advisors and tax advisory companies (as of November 28, 2019):

tasks
The tasks of the chambers of tax advisors result from § 76 Tax Advisory Act (StBerG). According to this, they have to protect the professional interests of all members and to monitor the fulfillment of professional duties. Her tasks also include:
- to advise and instruct the members of the Chamber of Tax Advisors on questions of professional duties;
- mediate disputes among the members of the Chamber upon request ;
- mediate disputes between members of the Chamber and their clients upon request;
- to monitor the fulfillment of the duties incumbent on the members and to exercise the right to complain;
- to submit the lists of proposals of the honorary assessors to the professional courts of the state justice administrations;
- To create welfare institutions for tax consultants and tax agents as well as their survivors;
- To provide expert opinions requested by a court, a state tax authority or another administrative authority of the state;
- to perform the tasks assigned by law in the field of vocational training ;
- to propose the professional members of the examination boards for tax advisory professions.
One of the main tasks is to ensure the training and further education of the office staff and tax advisors . This includes the implementation of the final examination for the tax clerk and the implementation of the tax consultant examination . The chambers of tax advisors have initiated the youth campaign "More than you think", which provides information about dual vocational training for tax clerks.
