Forum Hadriani was the name of a Roman city , the remains of which are in what is now Voorburg in the Netherlands . It was probably founded after the uprising of the Batavians (69-70) and belonged to the Civitas of the Cananefaten . It received its later name as a market place from Emperor Hadrian in 121. It is recorded on the Tabula Peutingeriana . The place was abandoned by the Romans around 270.

The finds include a bronze hand as a fragment of a statue discovered in 1771. Caspar Reuvens carried out scientific excavations, but was not yet able to identify the settlement by name. The assignment of the archaeological findings to the ancient place name "Forum Hadriani" was made in 1971 by Julianus Egidius Bogaers .
