From 1999 to 2003 Forte was in the service of Strasbourg IG . In the 2003/04 season he played for the Italian first division side Air Avellino and 2004/05 briefly at Eurorida Scafati in the second division of Italy.

Forte gained notoriety beyond the basketball scene in 1993, when he succeeded in taking the ball from Treviso's Toni Kukoc in the final of the European Cup against Benetton Treviso in a two-point lead for the French , which secured the victory and thus Limoges' title win. He played 75 full international matches for France and took part in the European Championships in 1991, 1993 and 1995.

From 2004 he was President of Limoges CSP. At that time, the team only played in the third highest division in France. Under his leadership as club president, Limoges returned to the top of the country and became French champions in 2014 and 2015.

Forte died of a heart attack. At the beginning of February 2020, Limoges CSP posthumously honored him by deciding not to give his shirt number 4 in the future, and a mural showing Forte was unveiled on the club's arcade.
