Frédéric Wiffel
Frédéric Wiffel , born Friedrich Matthäus Emanuel Wiffel (born September 14, 1737 in Munzingen near Freiburg im Breisgau , † February 1, 1805 in Paris ) was a German sculptor who worked in Paris.
Live and act
Wiffel was the son of the estate manager and schoolmaster Johann Friedrich Anton Wiffel. From 1751 to 1756 he was apprenticed to the Strasbourg sculptor Stephan Lamy . He then settled in Paris, where the Académie de Saint-Luc accepted him as a member in 1771 . He worked in France and for the electoral palace in Koblenz . In Paris he lived in 1785 at rue Plumet No. 898 15th arrondissements .

- 1777/86: Wood and plaster sculptures for the throne room, dining room, bedroom, billiard room and grand cabinet of the electoral palace in Koblenz
- 1780: Wooden heads for the automatic figures of the Abbé Mical
- 1782/83: coat of arms on the town hall of Lyons-la-Forêt
- from 1784: Works for the customs houses in Paris built by Claude-Nicolas Ledoux
