After the death of her father, the young Comtesse von Hagen is taken in by his childhood friend Joseph Königswart. The baron lives under one roof with his cousin and her son. Soon she turned the heads of the two men. She rejects young Reinhold's advances, while Baron Joseph, because of his advanced age, does not dare to confess his feelings for her to her.
