François-Pierre Savary

François-Pierre Savary (born September 21, 1750 in Friborg ; † September 7, 1821 there ) was a Swiss politician. In the Helvetic Republic he worked several times in the executive branch .

Life

Savary was the son of Nicolas-Emmanuel-Protais and Marie-Elisabeth d'Appenthel. He studied medicine mainly in France . He received his doctorate in Strasbourg in 1774 . From March 4, 1798 he was a member of the provisional government of the canton of Friborg . He was also an educator . From June 22, 1799 to January 7, 1800 he sat in the Helvetic Directory , whose presidency he took over from September 5 to November 17, 1799. From January 7th to August 8th, 1800 he sat on the provisional executive committee of the Helvetic Republic, he was president from June 26th to July 23rd, 1800, he was also a member of the existing from August 8th, 1800 to October 28th, 1801 first Executive Council, whose presidium he took over from February 1 to February 28, 1801 and from June 1 to June 30, 1801. From 1801 he was a member of the Senate. From 1809 to 1821 he was the mayor of Freiburg and from 1814 sat on the Grand Council of Freiburg.
