life and work
Little is known about his life. Presumably he was a student of the engraver and engraver Pierre Landry in Paris. He worked in Paris and specialized in the large-format reproduction of famous paintings as copperplate engravings , which were marketed as "altar pieces" for private bands. The first works with copies of the works of Cortona and van Dyck were commissioned works for Landry.
From his work are emphasized in the literature:
- Annunciation (212 × 146 cm) after Henri Watelé (1640–1680), copperplate engraving (9 plates)
- Adoration of the Shepherds (217 × 148 cm) after Pietro da Cortona , Imperial folio of 9 plates, one copy in the Dresden Kupferstichkabinett
- Mocking Christ (262 × 195 cm) after Anthony van Dyck , a copy in the Auckland Art Gallery - the original van Dyck was in the Berlin Gemäldegalerie and is one of the paintings in the Gemäldegalerie that was probably burned in 1945 in the Flakbunker Berlin-Friedrichshain
- Christ on the Cross (212 × 146 cm) after the painting by Peter Paul Rubens in the Alte Pinakothek - one copy hung with four other engravings by Langot until 1870 in the grave chapel for Christoph Gensch von Breitenau in the Lübeck Aegidienkirche , today in the hall of the manor house from Deutsch-Nienhof
- St. Franciscus after the painting by Guido Reni , copy after Cornelis Bloemaert
- Christ appears to Saint Ignatius after the painting by Abraham Bloemaert , copy after Cornelis Bloemaert - the name of the artist has been deleted in the second prints, they are signed S. Vincent de Paul etc. a Paris chez Jean etc. N. Zuccarelli pinx. Audran sculp.
- Madonna with Saint Roch after Baroccio
- Christine Reyne de Suede , copy after Robert Nanteuil - the second impressions have foliage for the border and the year 1656 in the lower left band
