France-Elena Damian
France-Elena Damian (born February 1, 1977 in Brașov , Romania ) is a German theater director who currently lives and works in Berlin .
Life
France-Elena Damian grew up as the child of two ballet dancers. She attended the Ballet Academy in Bucharest until 1987 . Her parents fled to Germany that year. A year later she followed them. She first attended the John Cranko School for Ballet in Stuttgart , studied educational science and finally came to the Tübingen State Theater through a study-related internship . Various assistants followed a. a. at the Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz and in the Sophiensæle Berlin . In 2009 she completed her degree in directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

France-Elena Damian is a founding member and board member of Pro Quote Bühne, a group of stage directors and other theater professionals in Germany that advocates a 50% female quota in all artistic theater departments.
