Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó
Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó (* 1812 , in Vic ; † 1867 in Barcelona ) was a Catalan architect .
He completed his undergraduate studies at the Escola de la Llotja in Barcelona, which was incorporated into the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in 1843 .
In 1852 he designed the church de la Misericòrdia for the municipality of Canet de Mar . But his most important project was the design of the Plaça Reial in Barcelona in the years from 1848 to 1859. In doing so, he converted the model of the traditional Spanish square and also began designing the portals and facade structuring of the buildings that were already in place. He also took these as improvement measures at the Teatre Principal .
Together with Josep Mas i Vila , he worked on other orders for the city of Barcelona, for example for the design of the upper pediment on the facade of the neoclassical Casa de la Ciutat and for the Saló de la Regna Regente until 1860.
The Plaça Molina was named in his honor in 1874.
