Francesca Weber (born January 28, 1989 in Velbert ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Francesca Weber started playing soccer at SV Hösel . She later moved to Lohausener SV , for whom she played until the summer of 2005. She then moved to FCR 2001 Duisburg . She played her first Bundesliga game in the FCR 2001 Duisburg jersey on August 14, 2005 in a 6-0 home win against FSV Frankfurt , with a substitution in the 62nd minute. She scored her first Bundesliga goal on March 4, 2006 in a 2-0 home win against Hamburger SV with the goal of the final score in the 88th minute.

After two years she left Duisburg and moved to SG Essen-Schönebeck on July 1, 2007 , for which she played until 2009. For the 2009/10 season Weber moved with her team players Isabelle Linden and Stephanie Mpalaskas to the second division Bayer Leverkusen. With Leverkusen, she made it to the Bundesliga in her first season. After eight seasons and 99 games in the Bundesliga for Bayer 04 Leverkusen , she ended her active career.

Weber played a total of 20 international matches for the DFB's junior team and scored two goals. Most recently she was part of the U-20 national team in 2008 .

Francesca Weber completed a teaching degree (sport and English) at the University of Duisburg-Essen and now works as a teacher.
