Francesco Cancellotti (born February 27, 1963 in Perugia ) is a former Italian tennis player .

Career

Francesco Cancellotti was in the final of an ATP tournament seven times in his career and was able to win two of them. In 1984 he won the final of the ATP tournament in Palermo against Miloslav Mečíř in straight sets 6: 0 and 6: 3 and in the same year in Florence against Jimmy Brown 6: 3 and 6: 3. He reached his highest position in the individual ranking on April 15, 1985 with rank 21. In doubles he was on October 10, 1988 ranked 160 in the tennis world rankings .

From 1983 to 1988 he also played for the Italian Davis Cup team , for which he played eleven individual games and won five. With his two victories against Israel in 1988 he was instrumental in helping Italy advance to the quarter-finals.
