Francis Bay (born December 17, 1914 in Rijkevorsel , † April 25, 2005 in Bonheiden ; actually Francis Bayetz ) was a Belgian conductor , composer and director .
Life
Francis Bay studied at the Conservatory in Mechelen . His career began in the 1930s with the Paul Godwin Orchestra , followed by a job with the Ramblers. In 1948 he founded his own orchestra. Bay was best known as the director of the entertainment orchestra for the Belgian broadcaster BRT . In the 1960s and 1970s he accompanied numerous Belgian participants in the Eurovision Song Contest . Bay led his own big band, with whom he performed under the name Francis Bay and His Big Band. He produced many albums and provided compositions for gaming and entertainment programs for the BRT. In 1962 he directed the Bob Benny Show for Belgian television.
