Francisco Javier Guerrero Martín (born March 11, 1996 in Coín ), mainly known as Francis , is a Spanish football player who is under contract with the first division club Betis Sevilla . He is known as a versatile player who can take any position on the right side.
Career
Francis started playing football at the Puerto Malagueño club . In 2014 he moved to the Betis Sevilla youth team . He made his debut for the B-team on April 19, 2015 in the game against Real Linense , when he was substituted on at half-time. He scored his first goal for the third division club on February 21, 2016 against Real Jaén . On March 15, 2017, Francis signed a new contract with Betis.
He made his first-team league debut on August 20, 2017 against FC Barcelona . He came on as a substitute for Matías Nahuel Leiva in the 2-0 defeat . Under coach Quique Setién , Francis was retrained as a right-back . He scored his first competitive goal on March 17, 2018, when he scored the 3-0 goal in a win over Espanyol Barcelona . While he played 22 league games in the 2018/19 season , he fell out of rotation in the following season 2019/20 and was only used in one cup game until January.
In order to gain match practice, Francis switched to the second division UD Almería on January 30, 2020 on loan until the end of the season . There he made eight league appearances and in August 2020 he returned to Seville.
