Francisco Martins da Costa Pereira Jerónimo (born April 18, 1963 in Uatucarbau , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of FRETILIN .

Career

Jerónimo (2007)

Jerónimo has a degree in Education and is a teacher.

In the 2001 elections Jerónimo was elected to 13th place on the FRETILIN list in the Constituent Assembly, which became the National Parliament of East Timor after independence on May 20, 2002 . In the meeting he spoke out against the definition of the age group of children in the constitution, but advocated a legal requirement. The definition was not included in the constitution. In the National Parliament, Jerónimo was Vice-President of Commission E (Commission on Poverty Eradication, Rural and Regional Development and Gender Equality).

In the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , Jerónimo managed to return to parliament in 21st place on the FRETILIN list. In the 2nd legislative period he was a member of the Commission for Health, Education and Culture (Commission F). In the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2012 , Jerónimo no longer stood as a candidate.

In 2009 Jerónimo was a member of the National AIDS Commission.

On February 24, 2018 Jerónimo was elected as the new President of the Federação Futebol Timor-Leste (FFTL). From 2016 to 2020 he was also the Consul General of East Timor in Kupang, Indonesia .

On May 29, 2020, Jerónimo was sworn in as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and the Media (Ministro dos Assuntos Parlamentares e Comunicação Social) in the Eighth Government .
