Francisco Picasso

Francisco Picasso Risso (born June 19, 1982 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan swimmer.

The 1.81 meter tall Francisco Picasso took part in the 1999 Pan American Games with the Uruguayan team . On October 11, 1999, he was a member of the 4 × 100-meter individual relay relay, which set the Uruguayan record for club relay with a time of 04: 03.01 minutes , which was still in place at the end of October 2011. Then he was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney . There he took 52nd place over 200 meters medley. In 2001 Picasso was multiple Uruguayan champion. He won the titles in the 200 meter and 400 meter medley, 50 meter and 100 meter chest, as well as with the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay and individual relay relay and the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay. Again he was part of the Uruguayan team at the Pan American Games in 2003 and he also took part in the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro . There he set a new Uruguayan record on July 17, 2007 with the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay with a time of 03: 21.06 minutes. In Beijing he took part in the Summer Olympics for the second time . Starting over the 50-meter freestyle distance, he was classified in 50th place. Until March 2012, together with Martín Kutscher , he held the national record over 50 meters freestyle with a time of 22.81 seconds. However, the record was broken twice that month by Gabriel Melconian .
