Franco dei Russi (* 15th century Mantua ; active 1450–1482) was an Italian painter who was active in miniature painting .
biography
Franco dei Russi was an early Renaissance miniaturist who worked primarily in Lombardy between 1450 and 1482 .
In 1450 he participated in the design of the Borso d'Este Bible , which is considered one of the largest Italian illuminated manuscripts . This work was completed in six years (1455–1461) by a group of artists under the direction of Taddeo Crivelli .
Dei Russi also worked in Venice and in the great library of Federico da Montefeltro in Urbino (1474–1482).
