Francois de Vroede

Francois de Vroede (* 1641 in Amsterdam ; † 1706 there ) was a Dutch patrician .

Francois de Vroede came from an upper middle class family and was related to the important mathematician Johan Hudde . After studying at the University of Leiden , he became a councilor in the government of Amsterdam in 1685 . In 1683 he became Schepen , a position he held seven more times until 1696. Between 1697 and 1701 he was Amsterdam's Schout . In the same year he was elected mayor for the first time . His second appointment to this fell in 1704. De Vroede had his last office as Hoofdingeland (highest level of dike management ) of the Watergraafsmeer.
