Franjo Mihalić (born March 9, 1920 or 1921 in Kutina , Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes ; † February 14, 2015 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav long-distance runner.

Mihalić took part in the Olympic Games three times . In 1952 , he finished 18th in the 10,000 meter run in 30: 53.2 minutes. Four years later he won the silver medal in the marathon at the 1956 Summer Olympics in 2:26:32 hours. In 1960 he started again in the marathon and finished 12th in 2:21:52 hours.

He set 25 national records over various long distances and won a. a. 1958 the Boston Marathon in the time of 2:25:54.

His personal bests were 29: 37.6 minutes over 10,000 m (1954) and 2:21:24 hours in the marathon (1957).

He trained many athletes such as Petar Šegedin, Zdravko Ceraj, Zvonko Sabolović, Boris Brnad, Dragutin "Drago" Štritof, Danijel "Dane" Korica, Andrija Ottenheimer, Dragan Životić, Krešimir "Krešo" Račić, Nedeljko "Nedo" Farčić, Josie "Međimurec, Srba Nikolić, Dragoslav Prpa, Ivan Mustapić, Miloš Mitrić, Goran Raičević, Anđelko Rističević and Miloš Vučković.
