history
The forerunner of the Frank group was the non-profit building society . It was founded in 1925 in Hamburg by the architect Paul AR Frank and his brother Hermann Frank , and in 1937 it was renamed the Hermann und Paul Frank housing association . During the Weimar Republic, Paul AR Frank participated in numerous residential areas for which Hamburg's chief building director Fritz Schumacher drafted the development plan, for example in the Jarrestadt . Other residential construction projects were the arcade houses in Hamburg-Barmbek and Hamburg-Dulsberg . In addition, the housing association planned and implemented the FRANK'sche estate in Klein-Borstel and the Elmschenhagen garden city in Kiel. These residential complexes and settlements are mostly listed. The Frankring in Hamburg-Volksdorf is named after the brothers Paul AR Frank and Hermann Frank.
