Francis "Frank" Becton (* 28. October 1873 in Preston , † 6. November 1909 ) was an English football - striker .
Life
Born in Preston in 1873 , Frank Becton played for eight clubs during his career; including the first division clubs Preston North End , Liverpool FC and Sheffield United . Becton's greatest successes were the runner-up in 1891/92 and 1892/93 with Preston.
In the years 1895 and 1897, Becton played an international match for the English football team .
He died of tuberculosis in 1909 at the age of 36 .
