Frank Borsch

Frank Borsch (* 1966 in Pforzheim ) is a German science fiction writer, translator and journalist.

Borsch studied English and history in Freiburg and has lived there ever since. In 1996 he published an Internet encyclopedia as a non-fiction book. From 1997, after completing his studies, he worked as a literary translator, initially for Heyne Verlag , where, among other things , he translated the alternative world trilogy Hammer and Cross into German. He later switched to translating superhero comics such as Daredevil , Hulk and Spider-Man and worked as a journalist on Internet topics.

In 1998 his first novel Vanishing Point Schemmenstern was published , set in the cosmos of the Perry Rhodan series .

From 2001 to 2007 Borsch worked as an editor at Perry Rhodan, where, among other things , he was in charge of the book series “ Perry Rhodan bei Heyne ”. At the same time, Borsch published novels within the series and became part of the series' regular authors in 2003.

At the end of 2006 his novel Alien Earth - Phase 1 was published , the prelude to an ambitious trilogy set in the near future of the earth. Alien Earth - Phase 2 followed in October 2007. The two novels were nominated for the Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis 2008 as the best science fiction novel of the year. The final volume of the trilogy was published in July 2008. A play inspired by Alien Earth - Phase 1 was performed in May 2008 at the Theaterhaus Jena .

Together with Michael Marcus Thurner , he is the organizer of the writing workshop writing camp - writing fantastic novels together! .

From autumn 2011 until 2015, Frank Borsch was the lead author of the novel series Perry Rhodan Neo, which he initiated . After volume 100 he left the series.

Frank Borsch lives with his son in Freiburg im Breisgau .
