Frank Bradke

Frank Bradke (born October 16, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German neurobiologist . He deals with the regeneration of nerve cells of the central nervous system ( intracellular mechanisms of neuronal polarization and axonal regeneration).

Career

Frank Bradke studied biochemistry , anatomy and developmental biology at Freie Universität Berlin and University College London . During his dissertation at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , he conducted research at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. He then worked as a postdoc at the University of California in San Francisco and Stanford University . From 2003 to 2011 he headed a working group at the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology in Martinsried and completed his habilitation in 2009 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Since 2011 he has been a professor at the University of Bonn and working group leader at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). He is a member of the Leopoldina and the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).
