Frank Edgar Portz

Frank E. Portz (born February 23, 1943 in Trier ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and former State Secretary in Hesse .

biography

After graduating from high school in Mainz, Frank Portz studied law and political science at the universities of Bonn , Cologne and Toulouse and passed his second state examination in 1973. He was then a consultant for the FDP parliamentary group in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia until 1974 , then until 1980 for the FDP parliamentary group . He then headed the ministerial office of the Hessian interior minister Wolfgang Gerhardt until 1983 . From 1984 to 1987 he was managing director of the FDP parliamentary group in Hesse . He then served as State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art until 1992 and again from 1999 to 2003 .

Portz joined the FDP in 1974 and has represented his party since 1986 in the municipal council of Walluf , where he has been chairman of his party since 1992.

Portz is a member of the board of trustees of the Wolf-Erich-Kellner-Gedächtnisstiftung , which decides on the awarding of the Wolf-Erich-Kellner Prize .
