Frank Giordano

Frank Anton Giordano (born March 11, 1980 in Speyer ) is a German radiation oncologist and professor at the University of Bonn .

Career

After studying medicine at Heidelberg University , he initially worked at the German Cancer Research Center and the National Center for Tumor Diseases . In 2012 he moved to the Clinic for Radiation Therapy at the University Medical Center Mannheim , which he was most recently acting as head of the department. In April 2020 he was appointed to the chair for radiation therapy at the University of Bonn and has since been Director of the Clinic for Radiation Therapy and Radiation Oncology at the University Hospital Bonn .

His scientific interest lies in researching new treatment methods for brain tumors (especially glioblastomas ) and metastases .

Together with other university teachers, the media entrepreneur Jörg Hoppe , the brain tumor patient and influencer Marlene Bierwith and the start-up entrepreneur Tim Behnke, he is the founder and board member of the German Cancer & Brain Innovation Alliance, which u. a. is supported by Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn .
