Frank Kurth (born March 15, 1962 in Velbert ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Player career
Frank Kurth played ten Bundesliga games as a goalkeeper for Fortuna Düsseldorf . He spent most of his career (1985 to 1994 and 1996 to 2000) at Rot-Weiss Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga and Regionalliga Nord . With 358 games, he is one of the record players at RWE alongside Willi Lippens and Heinz Wewers . In the meantime he was under contract with SG Wattenscheid 09 for two years . In total, he played for Rot-Weiss Essen and Wattenscheid 09 in 246 second division games. In the 1993/94 season he scored three penalty goals for Rot-Weiss Essen . Kurth was in the 1994 DFB Cup final with RWE .
Coaching career
After completing his active career, Kurth took over the second team of Rot-Weiss Essen as coach in 1998, and in 2001 briefly became the first team for ten games. From 2002 to 2004 he coached the former Mülheim association league club VfB Speldorf. From August 2006 to November 2006 he trained in the North Rhine-Upper Division SSVg Velbert .
From 2007 to 2012 he was the coach of the first division club 1. FC Wülfrath .
Private
Kurth works full time in sales in a Cologne paper wholesaler.
