Frank Lehmann (born August 28, 1959 in Lieberose ) is a former German soccer player in midfield . He played for FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) and BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Lehmann played in his youth from 1965 to 1973 for the BSG Traktor Jamlitz. He then moved to the youth department of FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) and finally to the first team. There he made his debut in the Oberliga 1979/80 on August 18, 1979 when he was substituted on for André Jarmuszkiewicz in the 3-0 defeat by Dynamo Dresden in the 68th minute of play . He had his second use on the third day of the game. Also in the seasons 1981/82 and 1982/83 Lehmann was only used sporadically and mostly after substitutions. In 1983/84 he was no longer taken into account and after the season he moved to BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt . He stayed there until 1986, before he was committed by BSG Energie Cottbus, which had just been promoted from the second-rate GDR league to the top division. Since the 11th matchday of the season, Lehmann has been almost always on the field, but has also been substituted seven times. He came to a total of 14 missions. After the direct relegation Lehmann was one of the permanent staff of the GDR league team and played 31 times in 1987/88 and scored three goals. After the following promotion he came in the league on 16 missions, all after substitution. In 1989/90 Lehmann played a constant 22 games and scored three goals. In the following season in the league he came on two goals in 25 missions. In 1991/92 and 1992/93 he played with Cottbus in the third-class NOFV-Oberliga, in which he was part of the team's permanent staff with 38 appearances and 18 goals and 30 games and 6 goals.

After Lehmann in 1993, Lehmann still played for the lower-class clubs Kolkwitzer SV and SV Wacker 09 Cottbus-Ströbitz as a player -coach . He then worked at SG Willmersdorf in 1921, Welzower SV Borussia and BSV Cottbus-Ost as head coach.
