Frank Meier

Frank Meier (born October 1, 1959 in Flensburg ) is a German historian .

Frank Meier passed his Abitur at the Auguste-Viktoria-Schule in Flensburg and studied history and biology at the University of Konstanz from 1981 . In 1987 he passed the first state examination, in 1989 he received his doctorate in medieval history under Helmut Maurer , and in 1990 the second state examination in history and biology followed. After stints at the Edith Stein School in Ravensburg , the Friederike Rösler School in Balingen and the Weingarten University of Education , he was appointed to a professorship for medieval history and didactics at the Karlsruhe University of Education in 2006 . As a researcher, he is primarily concerned with medieval history, but also with everyday history, the history of marginalized groups, the history of childhood and family and the history of the game, as well as history and cartography didactics .

Frank Meier is the author of specialist books , non-fiction books , scientific and didactic essays, reviews and internet publications.

He is a member of the " Conference for History Didactics " and the " International Society for History Didactics ". In addition, he heads the German regional group of the "International Curriculum and Teaching Material Discussions", the so-called "Bodenseekreis", the university professor of history, history didactics, political science and political didactics as well as secondary level I and II teachers from Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Austria, South Tyrol and belong to Switzerland.
