Frank Meyer-Thurn

Frank Meyer-Thurn (born June 4, 1959 , † January 24, 2009 in Frankenthal ) was a German musician, guitarist, songwriter and producer . He was also known by the pseudonyms FMT , FMTPosse , Zed Lovedust and John Ritt .

Meyer-Thurn was a member of the Mannheim formation McScrooge (1977–1980) and the German-language band Camilla Motor (1980–1983), which he conceived and toured through Germany and Switzerland and released 2 LPs. In 1984 he married the singer of the band, Camilla Hüther, and released the single and maxi "Brick House" with her in 1987 under the name Strange Voices on ZYX Records .

In 1989 he was one of the co-founders of the just emerging German dance music (including "Psycho", number 2 in the newly created German dance charts). He celebrated his greatest success as the producer of the German No. 1 title "Pump ab das Bier" by Werner Wicht , for which he was awarded a gold record for more than 250,000 sold singles in addition to his wife Camilla (as middle extender).

From August 1989 to June 1991 he was staff producer at CBS Schallplatten GmbH in Frankfurt am Main . Afterwards he was responsible for various productions and remixes on behalf of BMG Ariola, Virgin, EMI, Arista UK and zyx.

Meyer-Thurn also worked with Lory Bianco , Million Dollar Secret , It Takes Presidents and Melanie Thornton .
