Frank Orth (born February 21, 1880 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , † March 17, 1962 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Frank Orth began his acting career in the theater in 1897 when he appeared with his future wife Ann Codee with the play Codee and Orth at Vaudeville . Orth tried his hand at songwriting around 1909. From 1928 he played in the film for the first time. He has appeared in over 170 film and television productions, mostly in small to medium supporting roles. Among them he also played the series of films about Dr. Kildare and Nancy Drew with. He was often seen as a policeman, servant or bartender, often with an Irish background. He achieved fame on television in the 1950s through the role of Inspector Faraday in the Boston Blackie crime series . Orth ended his acting career in 1959 after undergoing a throat operation.

Until her death on May 18, 1961, Orth was married to his wife Codee for almost five decades. He died 10 months later and has been buried next to his wife in Forest Lawn Memorial Park ever since .
