Frank Popp Ensemble

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Frank Popp Ensemble was a German band from Düsseldorf . With their song Hip Teens Don't Wear Blue Jeans they had a radio hit and a respectable hit in the charts in 2003. Like all songs by the band, the song was held in the soul style of the 1960s.

Frank Popp originally worked as a graphic designer before making music on the side. His first single High Voltage was discovered in 2001 for the soundtrack of the film Password: Swordfish . In the same year Hip Teens Don't Wear Blue Jeans followed , which first caused a sensation in Italy. But it was only through advertising that made it known to the general public in Germany: The song was the music for a Coca-Cola advertisement.

The band could be seen again in 2008 at the Lake Side Festival in Hergiswil on Lake Lucerne . They later separated.
