Frank Shea
Frank Shea ( Frank Joseph Shea; born March 19, 1894 in Irwin , Pennsylvania , † August 6, 1978 in Harrisburg , Pennsylvania) was an American sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 he was fourth in the 400 m and in the 4 x 400 meter relay .
In 1917, 1919 and 1920 he became the US champion over 440 yards . In 1918 he became IC4A champion over 440 yards for the University of Pittsburgh with his personal best of 47.6 s (equivalent to 47.3 s over 400 m), and in 1921 he became the first NCAA champion over this distance.
