Frank Stieler

Frank Stieler (born December 13, 1958 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German manager and from July 27, 2015 Chairman of the Board of Management ( CEO ) of the KraussMaffei Group .

Life

Frank Stieler studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1985 he was with the work of regulatory activity of universities to Dr. iur. PhD.

He had been practicing as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main since 1984 and switched to Lurgi, a Frankfurt-based plant manufacturer, in 1986 . He held various positions, including head of the legal department, and was most recently Chief Financial Officer of a corporate division. After the consolidation and restructuring of Lurgi under the umbrella of Metallgesellschaft AG , he became head of the office of CEO Kajo Neukirchen in 1995 . In 1997 Stieler became chairman of the management board of Lurgi Bamag AG . In 1999 he moved to the US energy supplier Enron in Houston as Senior Vice President . In 2001 he became head of the Oil & Gas and Industrial Applications branch of Siemens AG . In 2008, Stieler became CEO of the Oil & Gas Division of the Siemens Energy Sector, which manufactured systems for the extraction of fossil mineral resources. Since 2009, he has been a board member responsible for the European business of the Hochtief construction group.

In 2011, Stieler was appointed by the Supervisory Board to succeed Herbert Lütkestratkötter as Chairman of the Board of Management of Hochtief AG . He officially took office on May 12, 2011 at the end of the Annual General Meeting.

After retiring as CEO of Hochtief AG , Stieler received two annual salaries as compensation, a total of 5 million euros.

With effect from July 27, 2015, Frank Stieler was appointed as the new Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of KraussMaffei Group GmbH. In January 2016, the sale of the KraussMaffei Group by the Canadian financial investor Onex Corporation to the largest chemical company in China, ChemChina , was announced. The purchase from the KraussMaffei Group represents the largest direct investment by a Chinese company in a German company. The purchase price is approx. 925 million euros. The Onex Corporation acquired the KraussMaffei Group at the end of 2012. Since Stieler took office, it has developed strongly and has grown again.

The takeover of KraussMaffei Group GmbH by ChemChina was completed on April 29, 2016 . Frank Stieler will retain his role as CEO and ChemChina will also entrust him with several key tasks, for example he will be responsible for the integration of ChemChina's rubber machine division into the KraussMaffei Group. Frank Stieler stepped down as CEO of the KraussMaffei Group on March 31, 2020.

Private

Stieler is considered to be a very sociable manager, without airs - he is also extremely athletic, practicing athletics, swimming, riding and jogging intensively, among other things. For his frequent business trips, the hotels are often selected for attractive running routes in the immediate vicinity of the respective hotel.

Frank Stieler is married to Beate Stieler. He is the father of five children and lives in the Rhine-Main region, in Eppstein , in the Main-Taunus district .
